'I'm obviously stupid' - Furious Malmo boss Rydstrom in post-Rangers meltdown

Furious Malmo boss Henrik Rydstrom stated "I'm obviously stupid" in a bizarre post-Rangers meltdown.

The manager made the statement in the aftermath of the 2-0 Europa League loss to Rangers.

The Malmo boss was quizzed on his pre-match comments regarding a social media message aimed at Rangers ahead of the fixture as he offered a frustrated response.

Rydstrom - who stated a social media post referencing Rangers' playing in the third division and also being in the Europa League final after facing Malmo on separate occasions was a "bit of fun" - fumed after his side crumbled.

In his pre-match press conference, Rydstrom had also suggested there was nothing wrong with the social media message as he said of previous results "it will probably happen again".

"I haven't seen the video but if I know our media department, it's done with a lot of love, and I think we need that in football," he said.

"I believe it's a good one, and it's never a bad thing to remind the opponent that this happened before... and it will probably happen again."

When pushed on his pre-match remarks, he said: "You can ask 'are you as a head coach stupid?' Yes. I'm obviously stupid."

Then, discussing Gabriel Busanello's mistake before the first goal, he added:  "S*** happens. It is symptomatic that we are playing backwards.

"This is a problem we've had for a damn long time. I have tried to get my players to understand that we do not play the ball backwards to our goalkeeper.

"Our goalkeepers are not our playmakers. Instead of taking the responsibility to play forward, we had lateral passes and passes towards home that I don't really understand."
