A mum-of-one has decided to quit her phone addiction in a bid to spend more quality time with her child by locking the device away in a 'phone jail'. Frances Barrett, 35, of Essex, runs her own social media business and finds the lines can be blurred between work and personal life when she is sat scrolling on Instagram in the evenings.
One night when she was watching TV with her partner, both scrolling their phones simultaneously, she came to the sudden realisation as to how much time they actually have to spend with their little one and watch him grow up as he's in nursery each day.
Frances would spend at least eight hours a day on her phone, but after making a new rule of locking her phone away as soon as their son Jake, who is two-and-a-half, returns home, her screen time has dropped by 35 per cent in a week.
