As someone who played collegiate and professional golf, I relay the importance of course strategy to my buddies when I’m out on the course all of the time. If you know how far you have to, not only the pin, but hazards or ridges on greens, then you can hit the appropriate shot that gives you the best chance of making a par and, if you hit a really good shot, a birdie.
