I'm a Lover of Character, But Tan France's Richly Layered Kitchen Has Made Me Reconsider the Quiet Luxury Trend

Tan France.

While deep reds, powder blues, and ochres are quietly dominating current kitchen color trends, I've always believed that a kitchen that dons a subtler palette will forever remain timeless.

Don't get me wrong, it's been a joy to see designers embrace the colorful quiet luxury trend, but when it comes to designing a forever kitchen, nothing beats the subtle grandeur of a neutral palette, followed by layers of high-quality materials and classic hardware.

Tan France's quiet luxury kitchen proves that the more subdued version of the trend is worth considering, particularly within a cooking space. Featuring a marble backsplash and countertops alongside a bespoke stove cove, the artisanal details come to life. I'm convinced the gentle color palette is what brings the design together.

Quietly Luxe Picks Inspired By Tan's Kitchen

Tan France's marble kitchen is effortlessly luxurious. Covered in neutral marble, it's brought to life with high-end accents. From the gold pot filler that crowns the stove top to the rustic vase that holds delicate stems, these elegant pieces are inspired by Tan's very own cooking space.

Tan's kitchen has me pining for a redesign. By focusing on high-quality materials that will stand the test of time, the space feels masterfully accomplished, despite its relatively simple design.

A neutral kitchen that doesn't feel cold or sterile, the warm marble brings a lived-in depth to the space. Both the marble kitchen countertops and backsplash tie in with the quietly luxurious feel, matched by the artisanal stove cove, beautifully carved and finished in black paint.

Finishing touches bring the space to life. The pot filler is a small but mighty detail that brings a hint of luxury to the stove top. The thoughtful flower arrangement emphasises serenity, and makes the act of cooking feel more enjoyable, designed to frame and uplift.

While Tan's kitchen is wonderfully one-of-a-kind, pulling inspiration from the space is simpler than you might think. Add small doses of marble decor (like trays, utensil pots, or even a vase) for a similar dose of luxury, alongside gold fittings like cabinetry hardware. To finish off the look, create a thoughtful floral arrangement using Euclpatyus or willow branches for a delicate, natural flourish.

With emphasis on quality over quality, Tan's kitchen exudes quiet luxury. Layered with artisanal materials and neutral colors, it's a serene and inviting space that makes the art of cooking feel even more enjoyable.
