I'm A Celebrity viewers 'relieved' as 'worthy winner' beats Matt Hancock in final

I'm A Celebrity viewers have shared their reactions to Jill Scott winning the 2022 series.

Jill beat Matt Hancock and Owen Warner to the crown on Sunday night, as hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly announced the winner.

Owen came runner-up in second place, while Hancock was first out in the final in third place.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts on the winner and the final as a whole - as many shared their relief that Hancock did not win the show.

One viewer wrote: "Awww Jill is such a genuine soul!! Queen of the Jungle! Well deserved! Would have been equally happy if Owen had won too! Relieved the final two were worthy of their places!"

Another agreed: "Well done @JillScottJS8 absolutely the right winner," as a third added: "She was destined to be queen right from that first trial before they even entered the jungle. A worthy winner."

A fourth fan said: "Yes!!! The right and worthy winner," while a fifth tweet read: "I’m so glad Matt hancock didn’t win."

Another comment read: "So glad Hancock didn't win, maybe the British public does have a tiny bit of sense."

Lioness Jill was thrilled when hosts Ant and Dec confirmed her victory, as were her campmates.

Speaking as she was crowned Queen of the Jungle, Jill smiled wildly as she celebrated her win. Owen, who placed second, was also thrilled for her.

"I can't believe it. I honestly think I'm going to owe my grandma a lot of money," she said, "These guys were absolutely incredible. I don't think there should be one winner."

Fans rushed to social media to congratulate Jill on her win as Mike Tindall, who finished fourth, handed over her crown.

Amid fears disgraced Tory MP Hancock would storm to victory despite backlash over him being on the show, viewers breathed a sigh of relief as Jill was announced as this year's winner, and the first Australian series champ in three years.

Hancock, meanwhile, finished in third place - with hosts Ant and Dec appearing relieved by this before they grilled him over the backlash he had faced from campmates and viewers at home.

Jill, meanwhile, added prior to the winner being announced: "When I first stepped into the jungle and looked around at all of the celebrities, no way am I getting anywhere near that final. To be part of the final three with Owen and Matt, god, it just meant the world.

"I’ve watched it since being a little kid. I’m still in shock to be honest."
