I'm A Celebrity viewers left in disbelief as they share anger seconds before end of episode after missed 'warning'

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa viewers couldn't believe what they were saying as they rushed to complain seconds before the end of the latest episode. The spin-off of the hit ITV reality show was back on screens on Tuesday night (May 2) and there was an elimination to kick things off.

At the end of Monday night's episode, viewers saw Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly reveal that an exit was on the horizon and the decision of who goes was in the campmates' hands. The string of I'm A Celebrity's most memorable campmates, who have returned to take part in the first-ever pre-recorded edition of the show, had to take part in a secret ballot for the first time in the show’s history.

And it was Amir Khan who became the third contestant to be eliminated from the new camp in South Africa's Kruger National Park. The former professional boxer said he had had a "great experience" on the show, having overcome his fears of spiders and snakes, but that it was now "time for me to go".

But his fellow campmates appeared surprised and saddened by the decision while I'm A Celeb viewers flocked to social media to complain and even threatened to 'switch off'.

Elsewhere in the episode, Carol Vorderman and Fatima Whitbread took part in the Tanks Of Torment challenge. The former Countdown presenter was made to swim through the four sections of the tank collecting stars, which contained various aquatic creatures.

But Carol was unable to fully complete the challenge after a snake made its way into the final air hole, saying: "It’s the one time in my life I’ve been like this about a phobia." Despite her fears, she still collected seven stars for the camp. "My one real fear is drowning," she emotionally shared afterwards, adding she did not want to tell other campmates that she had been upset by the experience.

And that wasn't the end of the action as soon it was time for two new entrances. I’m A Celebrity royalty Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney arrived in the South African bush to face the Flipping Disgusting drinking trial to win treats for their new campmates. The pair arrived secretly on the show, where they were greeted immediately with a trial, described as “one of the most disgusting ever” by ITV.

The pair were made to drink “gruesome concoctions” named after individual campmates in a bid to win treats for them. It involved finishing drinks made of blended cow vagina, maggots, chicken intestines, and testicles, while McPartlin and Donnelly looked on with glee.

“I’m really nervous. I feel like I’m doing this for the first time again, which ain’t good,” said actor and TV presenter Joe, who was crowned the winner of the eighth series of the show, ahead of his entrance. Ex-EastEnders star Dean said: “I’m probably more scared now than I was then.”

The 45-year-old is known for one of the most memorable moments of the sixth series of the show during a live trial which saw him putting his head in a bowl for a hair wash with cockroaches while wearing a bathrobe, where the actor could not stop screaming. "I’ve grown up a bit since then boys, I’ve got more grey hair now," he told Ant and Dec prior to the start of his first trial.

But as I'm A Celeb fans struggled to watch the trial, which they claim they should have 'been warned' about, others were furious when the show suddenly came to an end mid-way through the trial, something that ahs never happened before due to the live elements of the show involved in the Australian version.

@_SarahGeorgina tweeted: "WHAT!? Since when has #ImACeleb stopped a trial half way through to show tomorrow!!" @NLinnane posted: "Ah for heavens sake cutting it mid trial ffs #ImACeleb." @ShahLatona said: "This is one of my favourite trials in #ImACeleb EVER! Why do you have to pause it in a CLIFFHANGER?!!! I’m so happy to see Joe and Dean back!"

@SteDennis_95 asked: "They seriously left us on a cliffhanger?!?! #ImACeleb." @hollycarruthers commented: "Shouldn’t be allowed to finish mid trial #imaceleb." @MHarps89 added: "Can't believe #ImACeleb stopped mid trial, that was hilarious."
