Seann Walsh said his ex Rebecca Humphries 'ended' him with the statement she put out on him cheating on her with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones, as I'm A Celebrity viewers hit out at him for 'laughing' at the scandal.
Four years after his off screen kiss with Katya, who was married to fellow pro Neil Jones at the time, hit headlines and ended his relationship, comedian Seann has swapped the Strictly ballroom for the Australian jungle, going into I'm A Celebrity as a late arrival earlier this week, alongside Matt Hancock. While Seann has been on the comedy circuit for years, many Brits know him for what happened on Strictly.
And he opened up about the betrayal that rocked his relationship and career in a candid chat with I'm A Celeb campmate Sue Cleaver. Quizzing him on the backlash towards him, Coronation Street star Sue asked Seann Why did that crucify you? Why did that have such an impact?” Seann told her: "To be totally honest with you, my poor ex, my girlfriend at the time, posted a statement. My girlfriend (at the time) posted a statement and that was the end of me.”

In the statement, Rebecca revealed that Seann and Katya's kiss happened while she was home alone on her birthday, after she had raised suspicions 'something inappropriate' was going on between him and Katya, only to be branded, in her words 'nuts and mental,' by Seann.
Seann then went onto chuckle as he spoke about the very public way he tried to say sorry for what happened, taking the opportunity to apologise during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross. Laughing as he recalled what happened to Sue, he explained: "I said sorry. I sat on Jonathan Ross’s TV show and apologised. I sat next to will.i.am and Samuel L Jackson and apologised.
“That will forever be the weirdest moment of my life and I have to say probably the worst moment of my life."
While Sue described Seann as "brave" and a "sensitive soul," many viewers watching Thursday's I'm A Celebrity weren't so forgiving. Picking up on what Seann said, one took to Twitter to blast: "So Seann Walsh is spinning his own version of his controversy: blaming his ex for inflaming it with a statement, denying the extent of his responsibility, diminishing his apology by laughing at how ridiculous it was."
A second tweeted: "Jesus this Seann Walsh bit is pretty rank for those of us who’ve read his ex’s articles or book. He was much worse than a middle of the road love rat"
