Owen Warner was left totally clueless as to who I'm A Celebrity co-star Scarlette Douglas was, with Boy George having to step in and explain what she' famous for, right as fans predict a romance for Owen and Scarlette could be on the cards.
Hollyoaks star Owen, at 23, is the youngest campmate on the new series and, prior to the launch show starting on Sunday night, bookies had him as fifth favourite to win, on the same odds as rumoured late arrival Seann Walsh. As he made his entrance, Owen said his biggest hope for his time on the show was not to be voted out first, with him receiving a warm welcome from Boy George and Sue Cleaver who had already arrived on set on a speed boat.
Scarlette was the fourth star to join the group but, as she got off the boat, Owen looked puzzled as Boy George whispered: "She's from A Place in the Sun," to, much to the hilarity of I'm A Celebrity viewers at home, Owen asked: "Whereabouts?” with George quickly clarifying: “No, like the TV show," as Scarlette got closer to them.
As well as hosting A Place in the Sun, Scarlette, who started her showbiz career as a musical theatre performer, has also appeared on the likes of The One Show, Points of View and Jeremy Vine.
While in hysterics at Owen's question, viewers were also picking up on some early chemistry between him and Scarlette, with one tweeting: "im calling owen and scarlette," and another, thinking exactly the same thing, tweeting: "Scarlette and Owen need to become a couple and have beautiful kids and a spread in OK! magazine."
