I'm A Celebrity's Matt Hancock under fire for 'rule breaking' request to Babatunde Aleshe

Matt Hancock has been branded 'sneaky' and 'self serving' after asking Babatunde Aleshe to pass a message onto Gina Coladangelo as the Celebrity Gogglebox was axed from the jungle on Wednesday, with the moment also becoming a talking point on Thursday's Good Morning Britain.

Following the rather surprising exit of Boy George a night earlier, many I 'm A Celebrity fans were left gutted when comedian Babatunde finished bottom of the public vote on Wednesday night. Babatunde himself looked upset as Ant and Dec revealed the result, with his sentiments echoed by his campmates as Owen Warner, Jill Scott and Seann Walsh all looked glum.

The likes of Jill Scott, Mike Tindall and former Health Secretary Matt all rushed to hug Babatunde as he prepared to leave camp. But, as he embraced Babatunde, Matt was overheard asking Baba to pass a message into Gino, the woman who he was caught cheating on his wife with in Downing Street.

Microphones picked up the MP saying: "Oh you are so wonderful," before adding: "Will you say that to Gina? Babatunde seemed to brush off the request as he continued saying his farewells to the rest of his I'm A Celebrity co-stars, however, viewers who heard Matt's request weren't impressed.

One took to Twitter to fume;' "Says ‘Oh you’re wonderful, can you say that to Gina’ to him as he leaves. Showing his sneaky duplicitous self serving cheating true colours. But then he is a Tory MP"

Matt's request to Babatunde was brought up during Good Morning Britain on Thursday as TV correspondent Richard Arnold, talking about Babatunde leaving, remarked: "But it wasn't just his goodbye that got viewers talking. Shortly before he left the camp, eagle-eyed viewers noticed Matt Hancock making a potentially rule breaking request during a goodbye hug."

After the clip played out on screen, Richard reacted: "Sending a message to the outside world," as GMB host Susanne replied: "Is that not allowed?" Richard told her "No. You're not allowed to send a message to the outside world."
