ill Scott has been handed a big boost ahead of I’m A Celebrity starting, as she has been made favourite to win with a number of bookmakers.
Fresh from being part of England Lionesses’ triumphant European Championship team, Sunderland born footballer Jill is now ready to go into the Australian jungle, as one of this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up. Jill, who now runs a cafe in Manchester, has flown Down Under to join the likes of Boy George, Mike Tindall and Charlene White on the new series of the ITV show.
Other stars set to take on the Bushtucker Trials this year include Sue Cleaver, Owen Warner and Olivia Attwood, with social media also sent reeling by the fact Matt Hancock is going into the jungle as a late arrival. And while the former Health Secretary is being tipped to break the record for doing the most number of trials, the smart money is going on football hero Jill, who has announced her retirement from international games, adding the jungle crown to her European winner’s medal.
Having been at 6/1 to win I'm A Celebrity on Monday, Jill's odds were slashed to 3/1 with Betfair on Tuesday, putting her ahead of Zara Phillips' husband Mike on 9/2 and ex Love Island finalist Olivia on 5/1.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “England hero Jill Scott is the new 3/1 favourite to be crowned Queen of the Jungle in this year's I'm a Celeb. Mike Tindall, who will be the first ever royal to appear on the show, follows behind at 9/2, with former Love Island star Olivia Attwood 5/1 and Chris Moyles 6/1. Boy George had been the 9/2 frontrunner to go all the way on Monday morning, but his odds have drifted to 13/2 overnight.”
