I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here's Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have revealed more about Olivia Attwood's shock exit.
Earlier today, ITV confirmed that the Love Island star had exited the Australian jungle less than 24 hours after the first show aired, citing medical reasons. In last night's episode, Olivia was voted a VIP (very isolated person) and headed to spend the first night on an island alongside her fellow VIPs – Boy George, Scarlette Douglas and Chris Moyles.
Olivia took part in the trial, which will be shown during tonight's episode, but as the programme kicked off, the hosts were quick to discuss Olivia's exit and explain to viewers more on what happened.
Speaking as they opened the show, Dec mentioned that Olivia had left the show, but says she would featured in the programme as it was filmed before her exit. Ant admitted that they both felt "very sad" about her leaving.
ITV announced in a statement earlier today that Olivia had exited the programme due to medical reasons.
A show spokesperson told The Mirror: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo medical checks. Unfortunately, the medical team has advised that it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation.
"She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show."
Since joining the show, during her brief stint, Olivia took part in a number of challenges. She skydived from a helicopter alongside radio DJ Chris Moyles, something which she described as one of the most exhilarating experiences of her life.
The pair were given the news after a slap up meal, when they were presented with a card, which read: "Olivia and Chris, we hope you enjoyed your meal. It’s now time to begin your journey into camp and as VIPs you’re going to get a taste of the high life by jumping out of a chopper at 10,000ft," as they made their way to the helicopter and started on their journey into camp.
"It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. I just need to get back on safe ground in one piece – both boobs, all the veneers, everything," she joked before taking part – but once it was done, she was so excited and told the camera: "Oh my god I’m crying, that’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever done, ever. That is incredible. Top 10 experience of my life. Just amazing."
She then spent the night on an island with her fellow VIPs, before they took part in the latest trial.
