Ant and Dec reduced an I'm A Celebrity contestant to tears after the hosts were forced to deliver a bitter blow to the remaining All Stars in South Africa.
After nearly a week of getting to settle into life in camp without any of them being given the boot, the cat was put amongst the pigeons on Friday night's show when, having battle it out in the first Survival Trial of the new series, Shaun Ryder and Gillian McKeith were the first All Stars to be sent home.
Those who survived the cull couldn't rest easy for long as all of their places in I'm A Celebrity were left hanging in the balance when Ant and Dec broke the news to them that they'd need to turn on each other and to pick someone to eliminate next.
Revealing all, Dec explained: “For one of you this will be your last night in camp. But this time, who that is, is up to you," with Ant adding: “You’ll each be taking part in a secret ballot and you’ll be voting to decide the next celebrity to leave camp.”
As they made their exit from camp, Ant and Dec sensed straight away that the announcement had not gone down well; and, with them out of earshot, Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell remarked: ""That smiling assassin duo has delivered an incendiary device into the heart of our camp”
Paul's emotional reaction to Ant and Dec's news didn't stop there either as, on Tuesday night's show, ITV viewers will see him break down in tears as he says: "I can’t stop leaking sometimes…"
His I'm A Celebrity co-star Amir Khan, was a lot more matter of fact with his response to news of the secret ballot, reacting: "This is not a holiday, it’s a competition and there has to be one legend, one winner"
