I'm A Celebrity line-up rumours put Michael Owen in frame for jungle stint

Mihael Owen is now being tipped for a place on the I'm A Celbrity line-up, weeks after daughter Gemma made the Love Island final.

While he didn't end up going into the villa for Love Island's Meet the Parents day, former Liverpool and Newcastle striker Michael was an avid viewer of the show and, after Gemma and other half Luca Bish finished second to Ekin-Su and Davide, the footballer and racing horse owner was quick to post about how the 19-year-old had done everyone proud.

Well, now as Gemma is adjusting to her post- Love Island fame, with her signing a £600,000 deal with clothing brand Boohoo and seeing her Instagram following soar past the one million mark, odds on dad Michael heading into the jungle for I'm A Celebrity have now dropped to 6/1.

If he does join Ant and Dec Down Under, it won't be Michael's first high profile TV gig of the year as, right at the start of 2022 hew kept ITV viewers thoroughly entertained in the disguise of Doughnut on The Masked Singer. Michael isn't the only big name to creep into the frame for a stint on I'm A Celebrity, with odds also falling for referee Mike Dean, social media sensation LadBaby, football pundit Chris Kamara and Neighbours legend Alan Fletcher.

The hottest tip with bookies BetVictor at the moment is Kelly Brook on 8/13 with ex Apprentice contestant also well fancied on 8/11.

BetVictor spokesperson Sam Boswell commented: ""Favourite to go on the popular show is retired boxer Kelly Brook, at 8/13, could he follow the footsteps of his former rival Amir Khan?”

“Thomas Skinner, Mike Dean, and LadBaby are also favourites to appear on the show this year, with the three of them sitting at 8/11. Thomas shot to fame after appearing on The Apprentice in 2019 and became well-known and loved for his bubbly persona. Alongside Thomas is Mike Dean, retired football referee, well-known for dishing out the red cards throughout his career, and also social media personality and YouTuber LadBaby.”

He added: “The football legend Chris Kamara is backed to enter the jungle, at 10/11. He left Soccer Saturday at the end of the last season to complete an astonishing 24-year career at Sky. He was a fan favourite on Sky Sports, coining the phrase "Unbelievable Jeff", alongside presenter Jeff Stelling who comes in at 16/1.”
