I'm a Celebrity: Gogglebox favourite confirmed as sixth star as he lands in Australia

The sixth I’m A Celebrity star has been confirmed as Babatunde Aleshe.

The star was spotted touching down in Australia early on Friday morning, ahead of the launch of the new series.

The Gogglebox star cut a casual figure in dark sunglasses as he became the sixth person to land in Australia and confirm themselves to be appearing on the ITV show.

The 36-year-old was initially coy about whether he was in Australia to take part but eventually said: "I am here to have a good time you know what I mean.

"I am not a camper, I am not going to lie, not at all. Where I am staying I am alright for spiders and snakes, well I should be OK, I hope so!"

Bosses were reportedly said to be "really excited" to get Babatunde involved after becoming impressed by his amusing one-liners while appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with his pal Mo Gilligan.

Other comedians like Joel Dommett have used the jungle as a springboard to boost their careers for more high profile TV work.

Asked if presenting was his ultimate goal like Joel, he said: "I am inspired but him and I would love to have a career like Joels. But just watching him I am inspired. I don't look at it as something to inspire to do, but I am a big fan of him and me and him, we talk, we are good friends."

Babatunde is a father-of-one to Judah and is married to his Jamaican wife Leonie Aléshé, about whom he said: "At home with my wife I am a practical joker, I am definitely going to miss her and Judah.

"I am a competitive person in real life, in terms of a reality show it depends what it is, you know what I am saying. But I am just here to enjoy myself and have a good time."

The comedian was seen emerging from Brisbane airport just hours after Jill Scott landed in Australia, becoming the fifth confirmed I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant.

The footballer, 35, retired from England's national team earlier this year and has now set her sights on a new challenge.

When she was asked what would be more nerve-wracking – the Euros final or the jungle – she said: "That is a very good question but I don't think anything will test my nerves as much as that final.

"I have never really been confronted by snakes and spiders in England so I don't know how I will react to them, apart from a spider in the bath every now and then."

Jill took a step back from football shortly after the Lionesses beat Germany in the UEFA Women's European Championship in July – finally bringing football home.

She joined a whole host of famous faces who have already landed Down Under ahead of their stint in the jungle.

Chris Moyles, Olivia Attwood, Sue Cleaver and Hollyoaks' Owen Warner all touched down in Australia this week.

Radio DJ Chris, 48, was the first to land at Brisbane Airport and posed for photos in sunglasses and was in a joking mood as he got into a waiting car.

Asked if he was looking forward to spending time in Australia, Chris said: "It should be nice, fingers crossed anyway."

Earlier today Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have shared their reactions to the full line-up of this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! cast.

The Geordie duo posted a video of themselves reacting to producers revealing the full cast of celebrities while sitting down on the set in sunny Australia.

As a member of the show staff showed them each of the famous faces gracing the ITV jungle this year, the pair were over the moon and whooped ‘Yes!’ to each name.

With the identity of the celebrities still concealed from fans, Dec said to one face: “She's fun and feisty,” and then moments later on another: “She would hate every minute of it.”

With just ten days to go until the show launches, Ant then said: “What? Shut up!” at the reveal of another big name.

To another on the obscured laptop screen, he said: “We knew we would get you on there one of these days.” Dec said of another member of the cast that the pair had run into him recently and he had ‘never mentioned a thing’.

Ant ultimately labelled the full line-up a ‘very good cast’ and then both took photos of the laptop screen on their phones, as they joked they would post it on their social media.
