I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Fans Divided On Filming Change In This Year’s Season

I'm A Celebrity's Robert Irwin and Julia Morris

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia is officially back for 2026 with a fresh batch of famous folks ready to tackle some Tucker Trials in the South African jungle. However, this time around, the format of the show is not like its other seasons, and fans are conflicted.

For the first time since COVID-19, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia has been pre-recorded. In previous seasons, the celebrity reveals, challenges, and the finale were all live!

According to Woman’s Day, 2026’s season was recorded in November, and production had wrapped before Christmas.

“It’s a bubble,” a production insider told the publication.

“Phones are gone, they’re under strict contracts and they’re surrounded by a crew that can swell to several hundred people when you include camera operators, medics and security.

“Once you’re in, you’re in until production lets you go.”

Why was I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2026 pre-recorded?

According to the insider, the pre-recorded format allows Network 10 to work on the episodes more, adding that the extra time has “paid off”.

“The fact we had more time to work on what you see has paid off, and Network Ten are pumped for audiences to see it,” the insider claimed.

Fans react to the pre-recorded format

While Sunday’s episode took us on a rollercoaster of emotions — think fave celebs popping up on screen, daring challenges and wholesome introductions — some viewers noticed the change in format. Many voiced their concerns over how the finale will pan out, considering it’s Australia’s vote on who wins.

If you’re one of the fans who are worried about how the finale will roll out, don’t fret. A source told Woman’s Day that “Australia still chooses the winner”, hinting that multiple endings to the show have pre-recorded and that the matching scene will air with the vota.

Kinda like a RuPaul’s Drag Race situation.

“Whichever ending matches the public vote is the one that goes to air. The others never see the light of day,” the source said.

Regardless, I’m just happy to see Cyclone Cyrell back on our screens — even though she hasn’t been confirmed… but I know that voice anywhere as a fellow Western Sydney girly.
