I'm A Celebrity fans spotted Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly's relieved reaction as it was confirmed Matt Hancock had placed third.
The ITV show has returned to Australia for the first time in three years owing to the coronavirus pandemic, as it was forced to be aired in north Wales for two series where the celebrities had to compete to be named King or Queen of the Castle. Tonight, it was between Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, Tory MP Matt Hancock and Lioness Jill Scott for the top prize.
As the result of third place was revealed, fans tuning into the ITV show noticed the hosting duo's reactions - and they seemed thrilled that Matt Hancock wouldn't be able to be named as the winner of the 2022 series.
Noticing what happened, one fan penned: "Ant and Dec look relieved as the nation finally wakes up and votes Matt off #ImACelebrity #ImACeleb how he made it to the final three though."
"You can tell how much Ant & Dec can’t stand him. Legends #imaceleb #imacelebrity," another viewer added as a third shared: "You can absolutely feel the awkwardness from Ant & Dec having to talk to him, especially Ant. It's forced and awful to watch, they are clearly uncomfortable and not falling for his bulls***. Just wishing it over, same as most of us. #ImACeleb."
A fourth added: "Dec’s facial expressions and body language through that interview said it all. Couldn’t even look at him #ImACeleb."
Ant and Dec haven't been shy of voicing their opinions this series - and they fumed recently when Matt Hancock burned the rice.
"When you've got such little food in there," Dec added, discussing what happened and frustrated by Hancock's error, as Ant added: "That would make me very angry. And Matt sat in bed. That was Matt's job to keep an eye on the rice."
They were also forced to defend a trial branded 'unfair' by I'm A Celebrity fans - and called Owen an 'idiot'.
Discussing the trial, Dec said: "Was it too hard do you think, Ant?"
Ant replied: "No Dec, I don't think it was too hard. He should of went underarm earlier. Poor Owen threw a bit of a tantrum."
Dec then joked that Owen's tantrum bounced off of the post box and landed on the floor like the stars. Ant then took aim at Owen, and joked about the trial performance: "Because he should have gone underarm... idiot."
