I'm A Celebrity fans slam 'ridiculous' and 'unfair' trial as Owen and Chris get one star

I'm A Celebrity fans called out the latest challenge, saying it was "ridiculous" and "too hard" as the campmates only got one star.

Radio star Chris and co-star Owen Warner both took on the latest Bushtucker Trial, but they were unsuccessful.

But viewers didn't blame the pair and instead slammed the show for giving them such a difficult challenge, calling it "impossible".

Chris had a point to prove, after his previous trial saw him collect just one star for camp - with him clearly gutted.

Since then he has failed at other challenges too, alongside his campmates, and a recent episode saw him confess he was "of no use" to anyone.

Calling the show "one long embarrassment" for him, the latest episode saw him decide to do a trial after days of putting it off.

He asked Owen to go with him in the hope of redeeming himself and succeeding, but this was not to be.

Instead, the pair only got one star yet again - something hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly couldn't even mock after the trial ended.

Before the trial, Matt Hancock told Chris: "You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to," to which he replied: "I feel I should do it.”

Owen promised: "I’m going to help Chris turn his one star streak into a full house baby."

As they arrived at the Bushtucker Trial clearing Ant explained: "This is The Savage Sorting Office. You two need to put a shift in and sort through the mail to find the stars.

"One of you will be suspended from the crane in this harness and need to rummage around through the post and find the stars. When you find a star you need to get it in the giant postbox there to win it.

"The other celebrity will be operating the crane, but they will be blindfolded and they will receive electric shocks every 30 seconds. There are six stars to find."

Dec added: "You’ve got 90 seconds per postal cart. If the star’s not in the postal box in that time then you lose that star. This is a Bushtucker Trial so there will be some surprises along the way."

As Owen searched through yabbies, mud crabs and eels he found the star, but he missed the postbox when throwing it and lost it.

This happened again and again with him telling the hosts and Chris: "Mate this is so much harder than it looks!"

While he eventually got one star in the postbox, he then ran out of time and was unable to retrieve any further stars.

As Ant and Dec asked them to rejoin them, they revealed: "One out of a possibles six."

Chris joked of getting one star again, suggesting he was cursed by saying: "Merely by the fact that I was just here…"

As Ant joked: "You bring a one-star energy to proceedings," Owen was quick to take the blame.

Back in camp, Owen said: "One star and I take full blame. It was my fault."

Furious fans called out the trial and supported Owen and Chris, with one writing on Twitter : "Poor Owen.. that trail was so unfair."

Another agreed: "This trial isn't fair. Owen shouldn't have to basically play a skill game after getting the stars and blindfolding Chris serves no purpose whatsoever."

A third fan said: "The most ridiculous trial ever, stupidly hard," as a fourth tweeted: "sorry but that trial was ridiculous."

Another viewer commented: "This seems quite unfair. They're doing the work and getting the stars but can't keep them as the distance to throw into the postbox is too long."

I'm A Celebrity airs every night at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
