I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! has apologised for liking a social media post that contained “unacceptable language” about one of its contestants on the TV show.
The Instagram account of the reality TV show had “accidentally” liked a comment on the platform while scrolling through viewers’ comments, it said. In an apology posted on Instagram and X, the show said liking the post had been a “mistake” and apologised for any offence caused. “We seek to champion all our campmates and would always urge our audience to be kind when commenting on social media,” the statement said.
The now deleted comment referred to Nella Rose, a YouTuber who is a 2023 I’m a Celebrity campmate.
The apology has received mixed responses, with some fans calling the statement “unnecessary”, while others expressed concern over the level of “hate” towards Rose. One Instagram user, posting underneath the apology, wrote: “So much hate towards Nella, a person none of you have met. Leave her alone.”

Rose has received attention after falling out with Fred Sirieix, the First Dates star, in the early episodes of the TV show. The broadcasting watchdog Ofcom reported that 861 complaints were made about the row during the 21 November episode.
I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! has also included the early departure of two campmates due to medical reasons. Grace Dent, the Guardian’s restaurant critic, was the first to announce her departure from the jungle on medical grounds, and was followed a few days later by Jamie Lynn Spears, the sister of the singer Britney.
Nigel Farage, the former Ukip and Brexit party leader, is among the contestants in the Australian jungle. He has reportedly been paid £1.5m to be part of the show.
Other celebrities taking part include Marvin Humes, a former singer for JLS singer and presenter, Frankie Dettori, the professional jockey, Tony Bellew, a former world champion boxer, Sam Thompson, who appeared on Made in Chelsea, Danielle Harold, an actor, and a presenter on This Morning Josie Gibson.
