The stars of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! relished the chance to vent their suspicions about MP Matt Hancock as the MP left the camp for a task.
Hancock's late arrival in the jungle has left many of this year's stars on edge, with the disgraced Tory's handling of the Covid pandemic while health secretary still fresh in people's minds - as well as his blatant disregard for the rules he imposed on the nation.
First evictee Charlene White revealed she was so shocked by Hancock's arrival on the ITV reality show ( as he continues to pick up his MP salary), that she feared she was putting her newsreader job on the line by talking to him.
While the remaining stars have stayed mostly tight-lipped -with the exception of Boy George - on their true feelings about Hancock, the group seized the chance to have a good discussion about the controversial campmate in Saturday night's show.
Celebrity camp mates including Chris Moyles, Babatunde Aleshe and Sue Cleaver were amongst those voicing their suspicions about Matt's fakery and desperation for 'forgiveness'.
Radio DJ Chris started the discussion as he mused: "He's not streetwise. He doesn't live in the same world we live in" adding: "He still has the Westminster head on his shoulders, I think."
Coronation Street actress Sue replied: "No, he doesn't live in the same world. I've really tried to open up, talk, be nice.
"I always feel there's something that's not quite genuine. I find it really hard to get past."
Footballer Jill Scott claimed the MP was "oblivious" to how others feel about him, but comedian Seann Walsh spoke up to say he was trying to take Matt for how he was acting in the jungle, rather than his controversies from home.
Viewers at home agreed with the discussion.
One viewer vented: "I’m so embarrassed by how everyone is falling for his pathetic act."
Another mused: "I have no sympathy for Matt - but isn’t IAC just full of people who are all putting on a show?"
Matt's arrival in camp sparked a huge backlash when it was announced earlier this month - with the MP even being slammed by his own party members.
Grieving families of Covid victims even started a petition to ban Matt from appearing and flew a banner calling for his eviction over camp when he finally settled in camp.
Matt told his campmates he was hoping an appearance on the show, for which he is receiving a £400k pay cheque alongside his MP salary, would lead to 'forgiveness' from the British public for his past failures.
Before that, the MP told his constituents he was taking part i the show to raise awareness of dyslexia - which he is yet to discuss.
He also revealed hopes to show that MPs are 'human.'
So far, Matt has survived the first vote-off, with ITV newsreader Charlene White being kicked out first.
I'm A Celeb returns to ITV1 tonight at 9pm.
