I'm A Celeb's Mike Tindall blasted for 'cheating' as fans spot moment he 'lies'

Fuming I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers have accused Mike Tindall of cheating during Saturday night's Partners in Grime challenge.

The celebrities were asked a series of personal questions about each other during the Mr and Mrs-style game to win stars for meals back at camp.

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, 59, was asked what Mike's nickname was to his rugby teammates.

Sports fans will know Mike was known as 'The Fridge' during his glittering career due to his sheer size and immovability.

But fully aware that Sue wouldn't know this, sneaky Mike, 44, said the correct answer was 'Magic Mike' - when the Corrie star gave the nickname he had been given in camp thanks to his chilled attitude to the removal of dangerous spiders.

Explaining the challenge, Ant said: "This is Partners In Grime. In this game show you will compete in your pairs. You'll be asked a question about your partner and if their response matches yours you will win a star."

Mike guessed correctly that Sue would choose 'Magic Mike' and won a star for the camp - but some viewers weren't impressed.

One tweeted: "Mike Tindall's nickname is actually The Fridge not Magic Mike #Imaceleb2022 #ImACelebrityGetMeOutOfHere."

Another wrote: "Mike Tindall told a lie, his nickname when playing Rugby wasn't Magic Mike, it was the FRIDGE - Someone told him what Sue said."

A third tweeted: "Mike Tindall was never called Magic Mike when he played rugby he literally said she would never know and used the name that he knew she would guess as they have been calling him it the last 2 weeks.

"Mike's smart!" they complained.

"Mike pulled a sneaky one there #ImACeleb," blasted another fan.

Mike's apparent bending of the rules comes just after it was revealed that mother-in-law Princess Anne was watching the show.

Royal expert Jennie Bond claimed that the royals will have been “amused” by Mike’s on-screen antics - even after the former rugby star revealed that he’d accidentally flashed his mother-in-law Princess Anne.

Mike is married to Zara Tindall, the eldest niece of King Charles III and does not carry out royal duties.

The younger royals are likely to be watching the show but it is not known if King Charles would be joining in.

Jennie told OK! : “Princess Anne has more of a sense of humour than we recognise.

"She can be very stern, but she’s actually one of the most natural people within the family unit,” she said.

“She will laugh, she will joke and I think she'd probably find his antics in the jungle quite funny.

"I don’t think she will be offended in the least about the underpants story.

“She probably won’t watch every night but she’s very close to her children and I imagine she will want to know what’s going on so she can share the experience with Zara.”

She added: “I think the younger generation of royals will be watching.

"I don’t know about Charles and Camilla - though I have heard that Camilla watches the show, though I don’t know if that’s true.”

Jennie also explained that Mike has been very “respectful” during his time on the show and will be aware of what he can and can’t say while in front of the cameras given that he has been part of the royal family for over 10 years.

“The royals won’t be surprised at how Mike has come across as being down to earth as they know him better than anyone.

"He’s always been a bit of the life and soul of any royal get together."

However, with MP Matt Hancock being voted by the public to do the majority of Bushtucker Trials so far, the royal expert explained that Mike has been unable to show his “true” self.

“I don’t think we’ve quite seen the true Mike in the jungle.

"I think he's been quite subdued.

"That’s partly due to editing but it’s largely been because Matt has done all the trials,” she said.

"The days are so long and unless you're voted in to do a trial, you have nothing to do.

"Mike’s an action man and his days are usually packed from minute to minute.

"Hopefully we’ll see Mike do more trials and have more of a laugh - maybe he’ll pull some practical jokes on his campmates.”
