I'm A Celeb's Chris Moyles received 'underwear advice' from Vernon Kay before jungle

New jungle campmate Chris Moyles says he has got some good "underwear advice" from former contestant Vernon Kay.

The radio DJ refused to detail exactly what was said but explained he turned to pal Vernon for advice after he went on the Welsh version of the show in 2020.

Speaking to The Mirror, Chris said: "Vernon gave me some advice to do with underwear, I won’t share it, but he did call me and say I’ll have a great time and absolutely love it and he gave me tips on eating kangaroo testicles, he said ‘just shove it in’.

Moyles also is good friends with fellow DJ Tony Blackburn who won the show in 2002, but he joked: "I didn’t ask Tony (Blackburn) because he was the first winner so I love him a lot but he’s so old now he won’t remember what he had for breakfast so asking him what it was like to win that show he doesn’t even know he did that show."

Opening up on the real reason he has signed up for the show, it is to boost the number of listeners to his Radio X show as he only has a fraction of the audience he enjoyed on Radio 1.

"It’s never been on my bucket list to do this show, it never was and still now I find it weird that I’m doing it. Vernon said ‘you are there and you just crack on with it," he told.

"Why did I sign up? The main reason I’m doing it – hands up, I’ll be perfectly honest, is to get more people to listen to my radio show, which is what I do everyday and it’s what I love to do and have been doing for seven years.

"But there are still people I see in restaurants or bars and they go ‘I used to love your show, what are you doing these days?’ And I say I’m still doing a radio show – you don’t even have to tune a dial anymore, you just need to speak out loud and tell your device what you’re listening to."

"The radio show is the main reason why I’m doing it – trying to get more people to listen and convince a few more people that maybe didn’t like me back in the day that I might be more of their cup of tea these days."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! returns Sunday November 6 at 9PM on ITV1.
