I'm A Celeb's Boy George allowed to wear special outfit in ITV jungle

Boy George always cuts a stylish figure after decades in the entertainment industry.

And when the official cast photos of this year's I'm A Celeb contestants were released on Monday night, the Culture Club singer could be spotted sporting a customised version of the usual clothing worn in the Australian jungle.

Boy George could be seen wearing a top with big red spots on it, and a special hat.

This made the Karma Chameleon icon have a lead in the fashion stakes compared his new campmates as they posed for the first roll call of the series, with everyone else in the usual khaki shirts and red shorts.

A show insider revealed that the star simply asked producers if he could customise his outfit.

A source told Metro ITV instantly granted him permission.

But could George's hat, which is shaped like a crown, be a hint that he hopes to be crowned King of the Jungle this year?

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here" class of 2022 (ITV)

Ahead of his arrival at his temporary new home Down Under, he said: "King of the jungle, how fabulous would that be? I want to be the Harry Redknapp of my generation!”

George will take part in this year's I'm A Celeb alongside Corrie's Sue Cleaver, Hollyoaks' Owen Warner, Love Island's Olivia Attwood, Mike Tindall, A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas, Loose Women and ITV News' Charlene White, Chris Moyles, Jill Scott and Babatunde Aleshe.

Voting is already open for the show's first challenge, ahead of its return to ITV on Sunday night, with viewers currently able to choose 'Jungle VIPs' before votes close tonight (Tuesday).

Don't be fooled by 'VIP' though, as it stands for 'Very Isolated People' who are set to spend their first night stranded on an island before facing the first trial.
