I'm A Celeb campmates' stunned reaction to Matt Hancock's arrival leaves fans in hysterics

Matt Hancock made an explosive debut on I'm A Celebrity on Wednesday night.

The former health secretary, 44, entered main camp with comedian Seann Walsh - and his arrival has got everyone talking.

Eagle-eyed viewers took to Twitter in their droves to comment on the campmates' stunned reaction when the MP walked into camp.

Charlene White and Chris Moyles' jaws dropped, while Mike Tindall's eyebrows raised in surprise.

Chris said in the Bush Telegraph: "Two new people have arrived. One of them is Seann Walsh and the other one... I've got to go back and double check."

Taking to social media, viewers watching at home pointed out the stars' hilarious expressions when Hancock waltzed into camp.

One wrote: "Mike Tindall wins best reaction shot on behalf of the UK".

Another added: "Charlene's face says it all", a third chimed: "Chris Moyles was all of us when we found out Matt Hancock was going in."

The ITV anchor was quick to grill the MP on why he was taking part on I'm A Celebrity (ITV)

A different viewer typed: "I had to laugh when Charlene asked Matt Hancock why was he there. Simple Charlene he's there for the same reason as the rest of you the money."

Charlene questioned the wisdom of him coming in when the Government has been stable "for five minutes".

Boy George, meanwhile, broke down in tears (ITV)

Hancock responded: “Because there’s – honest truth is – because there’s so few ways in which politicians can show that we’re human beings, so I just thought it would be good to do that. I’ve got a sense of adventure.”

Boy George, meanwhile, fought back tears in the Bush Telegraph as he spoke of how he was unable to visit his mum in hospital during the pandemic and that is in the back of his mind when speaking to the MP.

After he had come into camp with Seann Walsh, Owen Warner said to Babatúndé Aléshé: “Do you have any strong views on the geezer?”

Babatúndé said: “It’s hard to kind of like push your views aside, it really is, because of the many people whose lives have been affected. But, at the same time, we’ve got to be welcoming and we’ve got to treat people as humans obviously.”

More campmates struggled to come to terms with the disgraced MP entrance into the jungle as Sue Cleaver said to Boy George and Mike : “He sticks out like a sore thumb.”

Boy George pointed out: “I think he’s super nervous though,” while Corrie star Sue said: “He must be very nervous…”

The Karma Chameleon singer added: “I could hear it in his voice.”

I'm A Celebrity continues on ITV at 9pm.
