Micky van de Ven has responded to transfer speculation linking him with Liverpool after admitting he would like to move to the Premier League this summer.
Reports in Germany have claimed the Reds are interested in the VfL Wolfsburg centre-back, after the man who signed him for the Bundesliga outfit, Jorge Schmadtke, was appointed sporting director at Anfield at the start of the month.
Liverpool are in the market for a left-sided central defender this summer, with Van de Ven fitting that profile, but the ECHO understands the Reds have not registered any official interest in the 22-year-old at this time.
Van de Ven is set to represent Netherlands Under-21s at the European Championships later this month. And speaking to ESPN ahead of the tournament, the Dutchman addressed the speculation linking him with Liverpool.

“Of course, I read everything, he said, quoted by HITC, when asked about links with Liverpool. "I have good contact with my agent, so I know what’s going on. I’ll see where it will lead.

“I am very good at Wolfsburg, so I don’t mind staying at Wolfsburg for another year. But if I get a chance to leave, I would like to."
