Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are set to face off for one last time — as the trailer for the fourth and final series of Killing Eve is revealed.

The BBC spy thriller, which stars Oh as MI5 analyst Eve Polastri and Comer as psychotic assassin Villanelle, has been a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, winning a Golden Globe for Oh and an Emmy for Comer. It is set to return to screens this month.

As well as regulars Oh, Comer, Fiona Shaw and Kim Bodnia, the new series will feature Anjana Vasan, Robert Gilbert and Marie-Sophie Ferdane — who will play an assassin described as having “even more issues than Villanelle”.

In the trailer, Eve and Villanelle are playing their usual game of cat-and-mouse, while Eve’s boss Carolyn (Shaw) is still trying to hunt down The Twelve — an international criminal organisation.

“I killed two people last night after I tried really hard not to,” Villanelle says in the clip, appearing to be in some sort of therapy session.

“Okay, well, that’s not ideal,” the man sitting across from her replies.

Writer Laura Neal, who is best known for her work on Sex Education and Secret Diary of a Call Girl, will continue the Killing Eve tradition of having a new head writer for every season.

She follows in the footsteps of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emerald Fennell and Suzanne Heathcote.
