A Davis Cup tie has come at the perfect time for Alex de Minaur as he searches for the missing spark that's been a constant for nearly a decade on tour.

The Australian, as high as No.5 in the world earlier this year, fell two spots to ninth in the rankings after his shock second-round US Open loss earlier this month.
