'I got catfished by a dress I ordered online - it made me look like Slender Man'

While buying clothes online is really handy, you aren't always able to see what the item looks like in real life.

Sometimes it might arrive and be smaller than you thought, a different shade of colour to what you expected – or look entirely different to what was advertised.

One woman didn't receive exactly what she was expecting when she placed an order for a chic £50 black midi dress with blue feather trim and matching black gloves – as it was a total disaster. She's left people in stitches after comparing herself to Slender Man while wearing the outfit.

Ellie Baxter, 21, from Newcastle, has now gone viral for her reaction to trying on the dress she had ordered online for a friend's birthday.

In a hilarious video clip, the dental nurse likened herself to the mythical tall, creepy figure in a black suit called Slender Man.

The dress was a "completely different colour" to what she had thought, the feathers had started falling out of the dress – and the gloves were way too big for her.

Explaining why she ordered it, Ellie said: "I saw the dress and liked it because it was something a little different with the gloves so I ordered it. I wanted something I wouldn't usually wear.

"It came the next day and I was so hay when it came I didn't even look at it I just put it straight on. There were feathers all over the floor and it looked like I had skinned a canary they were everywhere."

However, it was the gloves that made her feel like the scary creature, who appears in a creepy horror game called Slender in 2012.

Ellie explained: "When I saw the length of the fingers, I couldn't believe it. It made me look like Slender Man.

"There was just no way of making it work, it was like I had been catfished. It was also a completely different colour.

"I also had acrylic nails which would have made my fingers longer and gave me some length, but it didn't help. It was ridiculous."

After posting it online, the video quickly went viral with people being quick to comment who they thought she looked like.

Ellie said: "I posted the video online and loads of people were commenting saying I looked like Cruella De Vil, Kim and Aggie, salad fingers and Slender Man. Safe to say I sent it back and ordered elsewhere."

Ellie has since returned the item and has said it's the last time she'll be ordering something that is outside her comfort zone.

She said: "My thumb was the length of the A19. I have small hands as it is, I wear extra small gloves at work.

"I will stick to what I know and definitely stay away from gloves. It's the last time I order something out of my comfort zone."
