It's officially wedding season, which means more time to stress about what to wear!
My best friend is getting married this weekend, and it took me so long to find the perfect dress for it. After sifting through all the usual clothing websites such as ASOS, River Island, Marks & Spencer and Matalan, I ended up finding the perfect dress from New Look.
Now, call me naive, but I didn't actually know that New Look had such an extensive range of glamorous special occasion dresses. After browsing online, I decided on a gorgeous elegant dress in a colour that I wouldn't usually go for.

The Pale Yellow Lace Pleated Midi Dress is priced at £50 and comes in pale yellow, pale pink, lilac and navy. It features a flattering midi length and a chic lace bodice making it a really pretty option for a wedding.
I absolutely love the fitted silhouette that skims my body and hides my lumps and bumps, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys a cheeky wedding buffet. The lace detail is subtle, yet effective, and adds a classy touch to an already stunning dress.
The dress features:
- V-neckline
- Short sleeves
- Lace bodice
- Pleated skirt
- Midi length
- Fit-and-flare design
The colour was what really made this dress, though. Considering it's something I don't usually go for, I thought the pale yellow was the perfect shade for a summer wedding.
It wasn't too bold or vibrant, and you could easily make it more striking with a pop of colour in accessory choices. I'm planning on wearing the dress with some electric blue heels and a little clutch bag for some contrast.
I've never purchased anything with a pleated skirt before because I was worried it wouldn't be very flattering, or look a bit 'boring' but I was really impressed with how beautiful it was. It adds classy detail to the flowy dress and isn't too thick or heavy.
In terms of the material, it's very breathable, but not too thin and flimsy. This dress is perfect for a summer wedding, and for £50, it's very verastile too.
I absolutely adore this dress, and was amazed by the quality. I got mine in a size 12 so it was slightly looser around the lace bodice area, but I could've easily sized down.
I'm already planning on wearing this gorgeous dress to a family christening in a few weeks time, proving just how versatile it is! Equally, you could dress this down on a summer evening with trainers and a denim jacket for dinner and drinks.
