Weary traffic cops were left perplexed by an insistent driver who swore he'd never taken drugs before, but failed a test minutes later.
I forgot I had a few joints last night," the intoxicated motorist told police after he'd been pulled over in Salford.
Officers took to social media to recount the tale after spotting the Mercedes driver on Trinity Way. "Mercedes stopped on Trinity Way, Salford today," officers manning the GMP Traffic account said.

"Officer: "Sir, your eyes are very blood shot, have you been taking drugs?" Driver: "Absolutely not officer, never in my life!
"8 minutes later, drug test failed and arrested. Driver: 'I forgot I had a few joints last night'."
