Jethro Tull were enjoying their rise to success in 1969, with second album Stand Up beginning to demonstrate the kind of band they were going to be. During that year’s US tour, they were invited to meet Elvis Presley, who’d just staged his career-saving comeback to rock’n’roll. In 2019, Ian Anderson told Prog why he refused an audience with the King.
