Finance expert Martin Lewis has said he "feels sick" at the latest energy cap pricing predictions and that the cost of living crisis will "climax in catastrophe" as household bills expected to top £3,000 later this year. Experts are suggesting the price caps could go up by as much as 64% in October.
With millions across the country struggling amid the cost of living crisis and already rising bills, the increase expected in October is set to add even more pressure. The financial journalist has now asked prospective Conservative Party leaders what they intend to do to curb costs.
Writing in the latest MoneySavingExpert email, he said: "I feel sick writing this. The energy price cap's now predicted to rise 65% in October, taking typical bills to a horrific £3,240 a year, then rising again in January."
