‘I Feel Like I Can Breathe’: We Challenged A Vaper To Kick The Habit In A Week
Despite the growing evidence that vaping can cause lung damage and the fact that they contain cancer-causing chemicals, some people across the country are still choosing to vape. In NSW, it’s reported that about 20 per cent of people aged 16 to 24 currently vape (daily or occasionally).
Of course, the evidence speaks for itself; this is not a habit we want to see continue and so, we’ve decided to see what the journey to quitting is actually like.
We’ve challenged Kirsten, a 26-year-old Sydneysider, to try and give up vaping over seven days and don’t you fret, we were right alongside her the whole time to track her progress.
From the difficulty she experienced day-to-day, to the pride and relief she felt as she got further through that week, the process Kirsten made is nothing to scoff at; in fact, we think it’s time to start taking notes.
Start your quitting journey by seeking help. Head to the Cancer Institute NSW to understand exactly what vaping is doing to your body and to seek help quitting. For hands-on support, download Pave, a free quit vaping app, to help you become vape-free.
