'I fancy' - Daniel Sturridge names Liverpool player who will score in FA Cup final v Chelsea

Daniel Sturridge has named the Liverpool player he expects to score against Chelsea in the FA Cup final this afternoon.

The Reds take on the London club in what will be their second cup final meeting of the campaign. It was Liverpool that emerged victorious in the Carabao Cup final back in February after a dramatic penalty shootout.

Jurgen Klopp 's side remain in contention for an unprecedented quadruple, although Manchester City are in control of the Premier League title race. The hope of more silverware this season may rest on today's final and the Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month.

Sturridge, who has featured for both Liverpool and Chelsea in his career, has backed the Merseyside club to once again overcome Thomas Tuchel's side.

He shared on Twitter: "Woke up feeling like Liverpool will get the job done. Massive respect for Chelsea but I just feel like the red men will have too much for them.

"I fancy a Sadio goal big time."

Liverpool last won the competition in 2006 under Rafa Benitez but it was 2012 when they last featured in a final. The clash 10 years ago was also against Chelsea, who won 2-1 on the day.

This season, Chelsea and Liverpool have met on three occasions, although both league meetings ended in draws. The Carabao Cup final also ended 0-0 after 90 minutes, needing extra-time and penalties to separate the two sides.
