Since forming in 2005, In This Moment have become a modern metal institution, their catchy, polished brand of goth-tinged arena metal and increasingly flamboyant stage shows seeing them rise through the ranks in style. At the centre of it all is Maria Brink, their magnetic frontwoman and, for a time at least, one of metal's most misunderstood figureheards. In 2014, as the band prepared to release their first album on a major label, Metal Hammer met with In This Moment in London to find out how ready they were for the next step up - and why Maria's reputation as a diva was a load of rubbish.
