A woman says she "welcomes" daily harassment from evil trolls who bash her size on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, as it boosts her popularity. Meagan Starke says her body has made her a target of bullying as strangers torment the model for her looks.
The influencer, who has over 500,000 followers on Instagram, insists that despite the "daily" bombardment of hate comments, her spirits remain high – owed to the fact that it increases her social media presence. And, regardless of what the trolls might throw her way, the 31-year-old is very confident in her appearance and simply bats them off.
"When I post on TikTok and Instagram, I usually get hate comments and sometimes on Facebook as well," Meagan said. "It used to get to me but I'm used to it now so I just don't even pay any attention to the trolls.
"One time I went live on TikTok as a cosplay character called The Female Titan and I got around 16,000 viewers watching – it was nothing but hate comments the whole time. But I tend to just let them keep going because it's getting me user engagement.
“I don’t care what they say because these people are making me thousands.”
Meagan, who joined OnlyFans in 2020, uses social media to boost her profile, often dressing in cosplay. Those determined to share negative feedback slam her for wearing costumes often portrayed on "slimmer" characters.
In a recent video, users shared unkind words such as calling her “chunky” or saying she is an “attack on food” and would cause the character a “heart attack”. She said: "If I get a viral TikTok I get so many hate comments about my size doing the character, I get made fun of when I'm in cosplay.
"It's mostly when I cosplay a thinner character but then some other guys really appreciate that too. I continue because they already like a certain character and they want to see a bigger size girl doing it – it's like making their fantasies come true."
As well as impressing male fans online, the mum-of-two receives a lot of lovely messages from women who feel represented by seeing Meagan's photos. She said: "Sometimes I'll tweet about my experiences or I'll make a story about it on Instagram, and after I've spoken up they'll usually tell me that they love it, or some girls will say that I am an inspiration to them.
“I love what I do and I think I look good doing it.”
Meagan is also open about having had plastic surgery, having spent over £50,000 on liposuction, a tummy tuck and a Brazilian Bum Lift. Although she is a confident woman, receiving hate for her choices or her appearance can sometimes affect her mindset.
She said: "I feel like I have to perfect things on me because I feel like if I don't then I'm not going be as loved.
"Then I get out of that mindset and I catch myself, I come back to reality and I'm like, 'okay, I'm fine the way I am.' I have had surgeries to modify myself but I'm trying not to have any more."
Sharing some advice with others, she added: "If you do see negative comments, just realise that it's somebody hiding behind a keyboard and that their life is probably a lot worse than yours. It doesn't mean anything, the positive will always outweigh the negative, you have to remember that."
