While many shoppers are fans of Home Bargains, for everything from their cleaning products to their seasonal furniture and decorations, it is not the first place that comes to mind when considering where to do your weekly food shop. But with the cost of living rising and budgets getting tighter, many shoppers are looking to make savings wherever they are available.
Reporter Emma Gill decided to give Home Bargains a go for her weekly shop and when she compared the prices to supermarket chain Asda she was very surprised as the Manchester Evening News reports.
Some of the bigger Home Bargains stores now have large fridge and freezer sections and shelves full of fresh fruit and vegetables. Attempting to do a big shop, Emma got everything she went in for - and more. And some of the prices were ridiculous, ridiculously cheap that is.
