'I cured my depression, brain fog and eczema - by switching off the wi-fi and ditching doughnuts'

A woman has told how she cured her depression, brain fog and eczema - by switching off the wi-fi and ditching doughnuts. Abigail Escobedo, 28, believed 'radiation waves' and sugary food were having a negative effect on her health.

The mum-of-three says ditching sugary foods cured her husband's acne and switching off the wi-fi at night cured their brain fog and her depression. She says cutting out gluten-rich foods like bread cured her eczema and putting her phone on aeroplane mode at night now gives her a more restful sleep.

Abigail worried her skin care products were harmful so replaced them with products that contain only natural ingredients.

Abigail, a stay-at-home mum, said: "Realising that making small changes can have a big impact on my quality of life has been a gift that I didn't know I needed to receive. Not only has our quality of life greatly improved due to our increased energy and improved physical and mental health.

"We feel empowered - knowing that simple changes can make a huge difference on our overall health. I think back to the quality of life when me and my husband were dating to the quality of life now.

"Our life is so much busier than it was - I have a four-year-old and two children under two but as exhausting and busy as it is, I feel like I have so much more energy. The quality of life we live now is so much higher.

"My husband went to sleep eight to 10 hours every night. To be able to function on six or seven, it is a huge difference - that has been life-changing."

After having her first child, Maranatha, four, in June 2018, Abigail started suffering from mononucleosis - a contagious disease that spreads through spit. This caused the mum, from from Central Idaho, US, to suffer chronic fatigue and made her realise she needed to make a change to her life.

Abigail said: "I have always been interested in eating healthier but when my husband and I got married we got pregnant pretty quick and during that pregnancy, I ate whatever I wanted. I felt terrible throughout and I told my husband that when we are done I want to start making some changes as I felt so sick.

"I suffered from chronic fatigue, I had terrible energy. I had been to doctors, my provider, that helped a little bit but my immune system was shot, I was exhausted and ready for a change."

When Maranatha was nine-months-old, Abigail went to a naturopath and started doing research on different additives in food and changed things in their environment. Abigail said: "It was a combination of becoming a mum and wanting to raise my child healthy and then also me being so sick, I was ready to feel good again."

Abigail said her family started to cut out excitotoxins - usually used in commercial foods. They also decided to ditch anything with Monosodium glutamate (MSG) in - found naturally in some foods including tomatoes and cheese - as well as cutting out sugar completely.

She said: "We started there and we started to see the difference and so we kept learning. We then started trying to avoid heavy metals in foods, buying aluminium-free baking powder and stuff like that.

"After that, we started reducing sugar, for us, it is not an all-or-nothing thing. If we go out for food with family, we don't worry too much about what we are eating but in our home, day in and day out we avoid those things as a whole."

Abigail credited cutting out added food products, like MSG, sugar and other added products curing her eczema and her husband Daniel's acne. She said: "It was when we cut out sugar, that was the big shift for him that saw his skin clear up and he has gorgeous clear skin now.

"He was 27 when we got married, he had been dealing with acne for a long time, the eczema was a combination for me of getting rid of MSG but primarily gut disruptors.

"There were three big things that I noticed that when I took those out my eczema cleared up. They were polysorbate 80, ceriganen and gluten."

One of the things Abigail said the family saw the biggest shift in was turning off wi-fi at night. She said: "My husband, Daniel, 33, has suffered from brain fog all his life and so we started learning about electromagnetic frequencies - the radiation that comes from electrical products.

"We started turning out wi-fi off at night and my husband and I were waking up so much more well rested in the morning. He could think clearer, that is when we started seeing a difference in brain fog for him especially.

"We then started turning our phones on aeroplane mode at night too, which is where we noticed an even bigger shift in our sleep. There are several companies out there who produce products to reduce the electromagnetic frequencies in your home, so we eventually purchased some products and that has been life-changing for us."

Abigail has credited this reduction in electromagnetic waves - energy waves that beam out of phones - with improving her sleep, brain fog and improve energy levels. Abigail has also noted cutting electromagnetic frequency radiation to curing her depression.

She said: "For me, it really affected my emotions, after a while when we were going through the time where we would turn our wi-fi on and off. I would turn it off during the day and put it on a timer for it to turn back on and I would feel it turning back on - it was crazy, it shocked me.

"I couldn't believe it was affecting me that much."

Abigail said that she would never look back and that removing these toxins has "changed her life". She said: "My TikTok is where I share my story and be there for anyone who wants to make any changes.

"Quite frankly, a lot of the changes I made, I was looking for a community of people who were doing the same thing. I do talk a lot about supporting people in making these changes.

"My mission is to create a community where people feel supported, I want to be a voice that guides them through the process."
