There's no better feeling than sinking your teeth into a McDonald's order - anything from their iconic Big Macs to cheeseburgers. While we takeaway lovers relish nothing more than ordering from the fast-food chain, it's sometimes a little inconvenient to trek down to a local store or lay out a small fortune for a delivery driver to drop it at your door.
In a bid to seek a more affordable version, and to see if she can find a replica in the supermarket, one TikToker has put Aldi 's budget Chick Strips to the test in comparison to McDonald's beloved Chicken Selects. Her taste test was shared not long before the popular chain dropped a major bombshell on customers with their new menu shake-up, adding five brand new items to the list.
Grace Booth - who boasts more than 245,000 followers on account her @gracebooth97 - put her tastebuds to the test in a new video.
The clip in question has surpassed a whopping 3.5 million views since posting and has raked in over 250,000 likes.
Responding to a user's message about Aldi's Chicken Strips being "freakishly good", the McDonald's lover thought there was no better way than to undergo the ultimate test.
"WOW YOU HAVE ROCKED MY WORLD," she admitted before underdoing the comparison.
She explained: "I am a ride or die Chicken Select lover like they are my favourite thing that McDonald's do by miles, so they better live up to expectations.
"They only do four in a pack and it's normally either three or five, but they have given us a cute little barbeque sauce," she added.
The TikToker admitted that the sauce is a "really important element" of the Chicken Selects, and was evidently shocked at how similar everything looked.
She continued: "They have the little flecks of herbs and seasoning that the McDonald's one does - and the clumpiness of it."
"So good!" The TikToker exclaimed as she dived into the McDonald's Chicken Selects. "Now let's try the Aldi one."
"There's not a lot in it!" She gushed in shock.
"The outside is really nice and crispy and crunchy. Oh my God, they're like exactly the same!"
In a shocking turn of events, the similarities didn't just lie with the food as one person commented: "The Aldi packaging looks more like McDonald's than McDonald's."
"I can’t get over the audacity of that packaging," another agreed.
A third wrote: "I thought the Aldi ones were the McDonald's ones."
A different user claimed: "The Aldi McDonald's hash browns are great too! spesh in the air fryer."
If you're wanting to get in on the action, the four-piece Chicken Strips cost just £2.49 at Aldi.
