Aldi is know for its impressive dupes that can save us some serious cash.
I recently spotted a £1.19 dupe of the £4.50 Aussie 'Miracle Moist Shampoo' in 300ml, and found myself very intrigued. Aesthetically, they both looked very similar, but would it work for my hair?
Since I regularly bleach my hair, I really have to be careful when it comes to the products I use. I usually play it safe and wash my hair with Olaplex, which can cost a whopping £28 a bottle.

I've had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Aussie in the past, it either works wonders for my hair or makes it incredibly knotty. Now, I'm not sure if that's because of the amount of product in my hair, or the ingredients of the Aussie shampoo itself.
It's safe to say I was a little nervous to try this shampoo, usually, shampoos that cost £1 often contain questionable ingredients such as sulfates that really dry out your hair. The last thing I want is dry hair, considering it's already frazzled by bleach, so I really wanted to pay attention to the ingredients of both.
Aussie vs Aldi
If you can't get your head around all of the ingredients on the back of each bottle then don't worry, I can't either. Let's just say they're very similar for both brands.
Interestingly, both contain Sodium Sulfates, which as I previously mentioned are said to dry out your hair. This could explain why my hair felt knotty when using the Aussie, but how did Aldi do?
In terms of first impressions, both shampoos looked virtually the same aesthetically. One thing I will admit is that the Aldi shampoo smelt nowhere near as nice as the Aussie one, but it still smelt generally pleasant.
The Aussie shampoo was slightly thicker in terms of consistency and lathered up nicely. Despite the Aldi shampoo being a bit thinner, it actually lathered up better than the Aussie shampoo meaning I had to use less product - result!
As expected, the Aussie shampoo had the exact same effect as it did previously on my hair. It felt quite knotty and dry, and the bleach in my hair actually went a bit brassy too.
After using the Aldi shampoo, I dried my hair and was actually amazed at how soft it was. For £1, this stuff actually worked really well on my already compromised hair. The only thing I will say, is that the shampoo did highlight the brassiness in my hair, which is a bit of an issue for me.
It still ended up giving my hair a beautifully soft and fresh feel for a fraction of the price. I just wish there was something that could be done about both shampoos highlighting brassiness, because I personally hate having yellow tones in my hair.
My winner
I think Aldi is the winner here, purely because the Lacura shampoo made my hair feel so soft and silky. There's something about Aussie that just doesn't agree with my hair it seems, which is such a shame because it smells amazing.
If you're a blonde like me, I'm not sure I'd recommend regular use of this product, because it brought out some yellow tones in my hair. For anyone else though, this shampoo is perfect if you want an affordable option with great results. Shoppers can purchase the £1.19 Lacura Shampoo - Moisture 300ml here.
