'I bought a full Zara outfit for a Valentine's 'date night' for less than £40 on Vinted'

After hearing so many positive things about items people have bought from Vinted, I decided to try it for myself to see what all the fuss is about.

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I thought it was the perfect excuse to purchase my first outfit on Vinted. If I'm not out shopping in my spare time, you'll find me scrolling through my favourite fashion websites thinking, 'what can I buy next?' So I was keen to give Vinted a try this time for an upcoming date night.

Vinted is an online marketplace for buying, selling and exchanging new or second-hand items; mainly clothing, shoes and accessories. It is one of the most popular apps for selling online and it has helped many people - like myself - to buy and sell clothes.

One of my go-to brands is Zara and after seeing so many fabulous items from the hit high street store being sold on Vinted, I thought I'd have luck ensuring my entire date night outfit was head to toe Zara. On Vinted, the images do not resemble those on the official Zara website.

For this date night quest, I set myself a budget of £40 in the hopes of snapping up a dress, a pair of heels and a handbag. I could've scrolled for hours on end on Vinted looking at all of the beautiful Zara items being sold. I was so surprised at just how many Zara items were available on Vinted.

On the Vinted app, you can filter all your options to help make the search for items relatively stress free. This made it much easier for me to track down an entire outfit, as I could specify my desired brand and size.

Eventually, I whittled my huge list down and found 'The One'. If I was to buy this outfit at retail price from Zara, it would have set me back £99.98. But, Vinted pulled through and the outfit cost me £35.67, saving me an impressive £64.31.

How I got on with the dress

The dress I purchased on Vinted was originally £40 in Zara. However, I managed to buy it (with the label still on) for £13.50 including postage. It is a burgundy faux leather ruched dress, which could be styled with a pair of strappy heels or heeled boots.

The condition of this dress is 10/10, there is not a single mark on it and it fits me like a glove - which was quite a shock as my small height usually doesn't do me any favours when buying clothes online.

The shoes

I went for a pair of heels to go with my faux leather dress. They were originally sold in Zara for £29.99 but on Vinted, they cost me £13.59 with postage.

Always keeping a Valentine's date night at the forefront of my mind during my search, I was delighted when I came across these Zara heels. The pink shoes complete with a bold and bright lip print seemed too fitting to not purchase. Statement shoes are much easier to pull off than you may think - just keep the rest of your outfit very simple.

The finishing touch

Finally, the missing piece to my fashion date night puzzle: the handbag. My chosen bag came to £8.58 with postage but the original Zara retail price was £29.99.

I decided to go for a plain black handbag which can be dressed up or down. It also has a detachable across-the-body strap which is always handy on a night out. Again, the condition felt new - there was not one mark in sight both inside and outside the handbag, which I had been slightly worried about before it arrived.

The only downfall when buying multiple items on Vinted is that you have to pay for postage on each individual item, as they are usually from different sellers. But, to keep the cost of postage down, I went for the delivery option of shipping to a pick-up point to save some extra pennies.

I am so happy with my first ever Vinted purchases. I will definitely be buying from there again as it's possible to save so much money and, at the same time, still feel good in your outfit.
