Where the hype for huge metal water bottles emerged from, I cannot pin point (I am guessing TikTok) but a Stanley Cup quickly became a must-have accessory – because these products are as much an accessory as a bag or a watch.
For all of 2023, I did not succumb to the trend, taking my average-sized, strawless, handless water bottle to the gym and to work and not thinking too much of it. That was until Hearth & Hand with Magnolia dropped their second collaboration with Stanley. Now I want in.
The lifestyle brand, owned by designer and presenter of Fixer Upper Joanna Gaines, previously came together with Stanely last year, producing a viral collection at Target. And this week there was a new drop, which is every bit as chic as the last – and right now it's still in stock, but move fast.
What initially persuaded me to give in to the Stanley hype is the soothing palette used for this collection, which taps into the huge color trend for earthy shades, but also feels timeless. There are three new colorways – Restful Green, Silver Foil, and Best Beige. Plus, in the set of mugs, there is a lovely (and simple) plaid design which sold me. This set is currently in my basket, and my first Stanley purchase, since, personally, I can get far more excited about a cute new vessel for my coffee than I can a water bottle.
There are all the signature Stanley products re-envisioned in Joanna's classic rustic neutral scheme, including the Stanley 2pk 12 oz Classic Legendary Stainless Steel Mugs, Stanley 18 oz Adventure Stainless Steel Food Jar, and Stanley 16 oz Fresh-to-Table Stainless Steel Leak Proof Bowl.
At the time of publication, the iconic Stanley 40 oz Stainless Steel H2.0 FlowState Quencher Tumbler is sold out online, but keep an eye out both online and in-store for a restock.
This is my first Stanley purchase: The 12 oz Classic Legendary Stainless Steel Mugs. I went with the Best Beige colorway. I take a lot of camping trips as well as drink a lot of coffee so these mugs were a practical purchase even if it was led by the aesthetics. This design keeps drinks hot for 1.5 hours, cold for 6 hours, and iced for 15 hours. They are easy to use and easy to wash and for me the perfect size too.
As a novice to Stanley, I was pleased to see that they aren't all form and no function. I have seen the very impressive videos of people leaving iced drinks in their cars and coming back days later to find ice cubes still in their cup, but the double-wall vacuum insulation ensures my coffee will stay at perfect temperature for well over an hour too.
The pour-thru lid means I won't have any spills while walking the dog with my morning flat white, and unlike many of my other reusable cups, they are simple to clean since they are dishwasher safe.
Ideal for a lunch on the go, much like the iconic Stanley cups and mugs, this food jar will ensure the contents stays at the perfect temperature. It keeps cold for 6 hours and hot for 6 hours too. Like everything in the collection, it's dishwasher safe and it has a leakproof lid so no worrying about spills.
This is like a one-up on the food jar, it does more than just ensure your lunch stays warm, or cold for the day, The Fresh-to-Table Leakproof Bowl, has FreshVac™ technology to ensure whatever you store within stays fresher for longer – ideal for meal prep or transporting dishes over to friends and neighbors.
All the designs are available exclusively at Target, but based on the speed at which they sold out last year, if you want anything from this collection you need to work fast. And if you have time while filling your cart, Joanna and her brand Hearth & Hand with Magnolia has a wider collection with Target that's filled with gorgeous, modern rustic homeware, at amazing prices.
