'I always admired him' - Eddie Howe on matching Sir Bobby Robson's home record with Newcastle United

Eddie Howe Bobby Robson Newcastle United Newcastle EPL

Eddie Howe has spoken of his pride after emulating Sir Bobby Robson's feat of winning six home games in a row in the Premier League. Not since 2004 had the Magpies pulled off such an achievement at St James' Park.

The 1-0 win over Crystal Palace moves Newcastle up to 11th spot in the Premier League and they could even sneak into the top 10 this weekend with a win over Norwich City. Speaking after the game Howe was elated but typically didn't want to get too carried away.

He said: "It feels amazing. You look back at the start of the run that we've had at home – we just wanted a win, let alone thinking of six.
