- Hyundai CEO José Muñoz said the battery plant it co-owns with LG Energy Solution will open two to three months later than expected after its workers were targeted by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid. The raid, which led to the arrest of 475 workers, spurred criticism in South Korea, the home country of many of the workers. Muñoz said while the company is committed to $26 billion in planned U.S. investment, the issue with the battery plant needs to be resolved quickly.
A raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on a Georgia battery plant earlier this month pushed its opening date back by months, said Hyundai CEO José Muñoz.
