Hytale’s developers, Hypixel, have confirmed the game has secured funding for the next two years of development through the game’s pre-purchases, providing immediate long-term stability following its early access release.
“Pleased to announce that we have officially secured the next two years of development costs through pre-purchases,” Simon Collins-Laflamme, Hypixel co-founder, said on X. He also reaffirmed his personal ten-year commitment to the project, providing clarity to fans after years of uncertainty surrounding the game’s future.

The announcement arrives shortly after Hytale entered early access, marking its first public release after a prolonged and turbulent development cycle. Originally revealed in 2018, the sandbox RPG underwent multiple delays, an engine overhaul, and a complete reset of its production roadmap, leading many to question whether it would ever be launched.
With funding now locked in and multiple original developers being rehired for Hytale to return it to the original vision, they can focus on expanding content, refining core systems, and responding to player feedback without immediate financial pressure. The studio emphasized that early access is intended to be an active development phase, with frequent updates shaped by community input rather than a limited or static one-time release.
The team described the milestone as proof that community support has translated directly into the game’s survival and continued growth. While the team has not shared a detailed roadmap, players are already able to play the game, and modders have been given active access to tools that allow them to begin creating and experimenting with custom content.
For players who have followed Hytale since its initial reveal, the confirmation of funding offers rare certainty. With early access live and development costs secured, the game appears positioned for sustained progress over the coming years.
