Welsh BBC news anchor Huw Edwards has revealed he will be taking a short break for a few weeks to enjoy the summer holidays and will be returning in September. The 60-year-old Welsh journalist, whose career has spanned more than 30 years, took to Instagram to inform his 35,700 followers of the update.
Huw, who shares five children with his wife, said: "You deserve a break - from me! Take care and see you in September." He added the sentiment in Welsh: "Cymerwch ofal bawb a mwynhewch." This translates to: "Take care everyone and enjoy"

Fans and friends of the TV newsreader were quick to rush into his comments to send their well wishes. BBC's @chrisckmedia wrote: "See you in September for MUCH more fun and glitter! have a brill break x"
While fans of Huw's said: "Enjoy your break Huw" and "Gwyliau da i ti x", which means: "Happy holidays and you x"
Earlier this week, the journalist from Llanelli apologised and deleted a tweet in which he criticised an article written by another Welsh journalist which criticised First Minister Mark Drakeford and made reference to “Richard Burton, Snowdonia, male voice choirs, Dylan Thomas and dragons”.
