The husband of Queensland woman Frances Elizabeth Crawford — who was found dead on her property in an apparent ride-on lawnmower accident — has been arrested.
Detectives arrested Air Force pilot Robert Crawford, 47, in the early hours of Thursday morning in connection with Frances Crawford’s death.
The body of the 49-year-old psychologist was found in the backyard of her rural Upper Lockyer home at 3.40am on July 30 after sustaining critical injuries from the lawnmower.
Her husband Robert Crawford called emergency services at the home, with Detective Superintendent George Marchesini stating that he was assisting the Queensland Police with the investigation.
Shortly after, Queensland Police told the media that they were treating her death as “suspicious”.
Last week, police made a call to the public seeking specific information regarding the couple’s personal lives.
“We are particularly interested in speaking with people who knew of Frances and her personal circumstances, including her marriage,” Superintendent Marchesini said in a press conference.
“We believe there were women who may have information about Mrs Crawford and her relationship that will assist with this investigation.
“Investigations have revealed possible connections with people Italy, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Afghanistan, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.”
“The past few months have been extremely challenging for Frances’s family and her children, who are desperate for answers, and it’s time for those with information, no matter how small, to come forward.”
Queensland police have also thanked people who provided information following the last public appeal.
Investigations are continuing and no charges have been laid.
