- Christopher Trybus, 44, from Swindon, Wiltshire, has been acquitted by a jury at Winchester Crown Court of the manslaughter of his wife, Tarryn Baird, who died by suicide in November 2017.
- Mr Trybus was also found not guilty of two charges of rape against Ms Baird and one charge of controlling and coercive behaviour.
- The prosecution had alleged that Mr Trybus controlled his wife through violence, sexual assault, monitoring her whereabouts, limiting her access to finances and isolating her from her family.
- Further allegations included that he used a belt to choke Ms Baird and strangled her during sex, causing her to lose consciousness.
- Giving evidence, Mr Trybus, an IT company owner, stated he frequently travelled abroad for work, providing alibis for some alleged incidents, and believed his wife suffered from mental health issues, specifically post-traumatic stress disorder.
