Grieving husband Aboubacarr Drammeh had a pet name for his beloved wife, "my paradise or my heaven". Choking back tears as he addressed the trial of Jamie Barrow, his wife's next door neighbour who started a fire which killed them in Fairisle Close, Clifton, he told of his last call with his wife, Fatoumatta Hydara, 28.
Barrow was convicted on Tuesday (July 4) of the murders of Fatoumatta Hydara, 28, and daughters three-year-old Fatimah Drammeh and one-year-old Naeemah Drammeh, who died from smoke inhalation, and arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
Their WhatsApp call started at 10.22pm - and the couple spoke for just over half an hour. Mrs Hydara told her husband, who was living and working in Upstate New York, that both the children were asleep. They talked about the fact that Mr Drammeh was due to fly into the UK that Friday, 26 November, because they had an interview at the US Embassy three days later in relation to their applications for VISAs for Mrs Hydara and the children.
