'Category 1' hurricane winds have been recorded at a lighthouse off the Cork coast.
These wind speeds will not reach land, but it shows the violence of this storm as it heads towards Ireland.
According to the most recent readings from the Fastnet Lighthouse, average winds at sea are over CAT1 Hurricane level.
Category 1 Hurricanes generally cause minor damage, such as flooding and the falling of trees.
Meanwhile, Met Eireann has removed the red warnings in place for Cork, Kerry and Clare amid the raging Storm Eunice.
While some areas of the country remain bright and calm, experts have warned that the storm is still on its way.
Many people living in the south and southwest of the country are hitting out after the change in warning status with one person noting “the winds are stronger now than they were earlier.”
Taking to Twitter one person asked: “How come status red lifted here at 8am in the south, when winds are stronger than any time in the storm?”
Another wrote: “Status red UNTIL 8?? Wind is INSANE here (Kerry) starting at 8am!!”
A third said: “My house is near short of blowing away but the red warning is dropped. How?”
If you're lucky enough to be in a county that remains calm at this point of the day, you should still prepare for conditions to deteriorate over the coming hours as Eunice makes its way across the country.
There are nearly 75,000 homes without power, however, the ESB has said it won’t know the true severity of the disruption until midday.
Crews are out working where it is safe to do so, in an attempt to return power as soon as possible to customers.
You can check what time your power will be restored by heading over to ESB powercheck.
