Hurricane Milton Weakens To Category 1, Transitioning To Post-Tropical

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center indicates that Hurricane Milton has weakened slightly to 80 mph, remaining a Category 1 hurricane. The storm has picked up speed, now moving at 20 mph, and is expected to fully transition to a post-tropical system by this afternoon.

The National Hurricane Center has stated that tropical storm conditions will persist along parts of the southeast U.S. coast through this afternoon and in the extreme northwestern Bahamas through this evening. While all hurricane warnings have been lifted, tropical storm warnings are still in effect from Sebastian Inlet, Florida, northward to Edisto Beach, South Carolina.
